First Post - TLAB and Myself

Happy Friday Everyone!
First Official Blog Post here.

I’m Miles, Co-Founder of TLAB along with my brother from another mother Kevin. I am a Swing trader, Position trader, Beer lover, dog lover, Avid Fisherman, wood worker, Amateur Billiard player, and Cook/BBQ aficionado.

I started getting into day trading back in 2012, I knew absolutely nothing about the market or what it even was. I found Kunal Desai of bulls on wall street from a youtube video. Ended up taking his Bootcamp course and was hooked, I ended up going through his course three times in a row and sim trader for 6 months before going live with clique fund. (by the way, Kunal is a great fucking teacher, he made it entertaining and taught me everything I needed to start in the markets) From there I started day trading in clique fund.  I blew up my $2,500 account in 4-6 months or so.  Sucked at the time, but turns out everyone has a blow up like that, it's kind of a rite of passage.  At the same time I was swing trading my small IRA and killing it, growing the account nearly 1000% in a year! So I said fuck day trading, it's just not for me, and I went to full time swing trading, getting help from Paul Singh (who is a badass full of great info) and Trader Stewie who is the man!

This whole time a few of us students from Kunal's Bootcamp had a chat going, talking trading and bullshitting day in and day out. Over time our group grew and gained some great and unique traders. Now we have a solid group of successful up and coming traders.

This is where TLAB started, we are a group of traders working together to help each other succeed. Calling out the good and the bad, holding each other accountable for their actions, we all help each other so we can be successful together. While we all have different styles and time frames, our mentality and the resiliency that comes from working as a group has allowed us to grow and become more and more successful each day. We have Day Traders, Swing Traders, Long Term Positions Trades, and Options etc. etc.  In the coming weeks, we'll introduce some of our Main traders with blog posts to introduce them and how they trade and things they've learned over the year.  We'll share our backgrounds and as many tips as we can.  We hope to inspire discussions amongst our followers.

That what TLAB is, we all learn from each other!  So let's talk about what we do and help each other by analyzing each other’s trades, discussing techniques/strategies to deal with common mistakes, and trying keeping each other focused on the bigger picture and sticking to individual trading rules, also to talk about their individual setups and strategies and trading background/history.

I myself mainly trade PEG (Power earnings Gapers)
I scan and make new watch list every quarter and enter the ER gapers on PBs
.
Only on stocks in nice clean uptrend and above 200 ma, I get in that trend and just ride as long as possible. Selling 1/3 here and there along the way. If I have enough cushion going into next ER season I will continue to ride the last 1/3 through ER, the add on pullbacks building entire new position out of it. And selling 1/3 of those along the way. Of course we move stops up along the way to ensure a gain no matter what. I’ve found this way of trading is slow and boring. BUT it works, now I know that could be cause the fucking market is insanely hot, historic type shit. And sure it won’t last forever. But why fight it!? Long until wrong as Sunrise Trader said the other day. Also if it weren’t for my bro Kevin Lichte riding my ass all the time about doing stupid shit I wouldn’t be where I am today. Its that and TLAB that kept me to following my system, tracking all my trades, reviewing them and keeping me on track. Anyways I will go more in depth in another blog post about how I scan and the exact type of plays I look for. Cheers Yall and Have a great weekend!
